Who We Work With
We work with a wide variety of small and mid-size business executives (Owners, CEOs, Presidents, Executive Directors, and Managing Partners). They may be in the business-to-business market or business-to-consumer market. They may be in the professional services market or retail, the financial services market or technology, health and recreation or construction, real estate or consumer goods--or even the church or non-profit market. However, what all of the businesses we work with have in common is that they’re all in the small to mid-size business market (from funded start up to $50M)—and the primary client is either the owner or senior executive of that company or organization.
If you're curious if you might be a good fit, here are the kinds of statements our clients tend to call us with.
“We’re not growing like we used to. It’s like we’ve hit a ceiling of complexity where we’re working harder and harder and faster and faster, yet getting nowhere. We’re spinning our wheels and I don't know how to get us back on a growth curve.”
“To be honest, I don’t know where to take us next. Our old strategy isn’t working like it used to. Plus, I know that to get to the next level, I need buy-in from my team—and right now I know we’re not all on the same page.”
“With all of our activity and revenue, we ought to be making more money. One would think that with as much money as we have coming in, we shouldn’t be living week-to-week (or in the red).”
“Honestly, I think this organization has outgrown me. I’m the classic E-myth technician who now has to lead, manage talent, watch the money, market, sell, hire, fire, innovate, provide customer service, negotiate contracts, etc.—all of which I wasn’t trained to do. When we were smaller I could fake my way through this stuff, now, I can’t. I’m pretty sure I’ve become the bottleneck and I don’t know how to turn that around.”
“I used to think I was a great leader and manager but I’m not so sure any longer. We’re not all headed in the same direction. Morale is low. I’ve kept people on who need to be fired. I haven’t developed the people who need to be developed. I’m not delegating like I should be. And we’re not executing our plan well.”
“I’m overwhelmed, tired, burned out and exhausted. I know I ought to be working ‘on’ the business and not ‘in’ it—but I can’t figure out how to do that. And even if I could, I don’t think I have the energy in me to do anything about it. There’s got to be a better way to live. I'm ready to call it quits.”
“We’re headed into new territory and I know that what got us here, won’t get us there. However, I also know that I don’t have the time to figure out what I don’t know that I need to know if we’re going to manage this next phase successfully.”
"We have some major decisions to make that will have major consequences--and I don't want to screw this up. I need an objective third party to help us process this to make sure we make the right decision.
If any (or most of the above) sound like you, chances are we'll make a good fit.In addition, our experience tells us you’ll probably be a good fit if the following values and habits are true of you
